Welcome to the Launch of Archivalpendium2.0, a blog devoted to discussing the hot topics of the archival community, issues related to archives and researching in primary sources, and interactions between users and archives from the perspective of a young archivist/historical researcher. The hope of the author of this blog is that archivists will find the perspectives challenging and fresh, offering them insight into how users feel about the developments archives make in the public sector, whether it be online archival repositories or public education programs.
This blog will also attempt to review websites of archives and historical societies that hold some of America's most important, exciting, relevant, or unknown collections. There will be analysis of websites' interface, searching capabilities for archival material, presentation of online collections, and much more. This is not meant as a rant-and-rave outlet for a rebellious archivist. Rather, it will hopefully provide the archival community with a greater connection to what the younger generation of users needs and thinks about the services and programs provided by archives across the country. Please come visit again as the author brings you an "Archivalpendium" of all things archives 2.0 in the 21st century.
